5 Easy Things I Do to Help My Brain

There are so many things that health professionals disagree about.

Some tell us to remove meat from our diet, some tell us to only eat meat with fruit, and some say something completely different!

With that, it’s hard to know what to consume.

Well, after doing some research, I have found 5 few things that many health professionals agree on and I consume them to keep my brain healthy.

Blueberries

Blueberries are more than just a tasty fruit. They have been known to help fight against brain ageing.  They aid our serotonin levels.  This means if we struggle with remembering things in the short-term, blueberries could help us in that area too.

Water

Not only is our body approximately 80 per cent water, but this applies to our brains too.

Drinking water not only helps our brains to function well but also helps our bodies fight against fatigue.  On top of that, being properly hydrated helps us think clearly.

Dark Chocolate

There’s a lot of debate around dark chocolate as it contains caffeine.  But if you are someone who is not avoiding caffeine, dark chocolate has been identified as a source to help brain function by enhancing cognitive function.

When it comes to dark chocolate, the purer the better and of course, when it comes to dark chocolate, moderation is important.

Avocados

Although I don’t like the taste of avocados, I eat them a lot because their nutritional value is high.  (I wish the same would be said for doughnuts.)

Avocados contain vitamin E.  This is a vitamin that is famous for keeping our brains healthy.

Walnuts

Another food in the vitamin E group is walnuts.   As well as aiding in brain health, they are also famous for improving our overall mood.  Walnuts have also been known to help with focus and memory.

With all of the health professionals contradicting each other, trying to sift through information about health is not easy.  Despite this, these five things are famous for helping our brains stay healthy.  How many will you put on your shopping list?
