Fiction Books Books You Need to Add to Your TBR List
Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is one of my favourite books in the dystopian genre and honestly, I can’t recommend Fahrenheit 451 enough. It’s the type of fiction book that does exactly what it was created to do: get you to question everything about your current reality.
Warning: The parallels between the characters in the book and the people around you might make you laugh and cry.
Animal Farm
Animal Farm by George Orwell might be a quick read but it’s filled with drama. Although a fiction book, the story gives the reader a clear depiction of how power can truly corrupt.
The book is frustrating in the best way possible as it helps the reader see how easy it is to be manipulated by leaders, the media and the masses.
Non-Fiction Books You Need to Add to Your TBR List
Modern Romance
If you want to know about the current dating scene read Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari and Eric Klinenberg. If you’ve been out of the dating game for a while, it will catch you up to speed. If you’re currently in the dating game, not only will it act like your therapist and justify your feelings it will also give you hope.
One of the most interesting parts of the book is the authors’ walk through the love lives of people around the world.
Spoiler alert: there’s one country in South America that could help us daters in Europe change the face of dating.
The Diary of a CEO
The Diary of a CEO might be one of the best business and lifestyle books I have ever read. Typically, books like this are either hard to read, unrealistic or filled with very limited helpful information. But Steven Bartlett isn’t like everyone and neither is his book.
If you want to make progress in life, love, business or more, this book will help you take those steps.
Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire
History fans and those who just want to learn more about the world should read Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire. It’s written by the intellect, rapper and author Akala. The book helps the reader understand why certain issues revolving around race are still around and how they are rooted in the culture of the United Kingdom. Akala clearly wrote this book for anyone, including those who don’t usually read historical books.
It’s one of the best books I read in 2023. Maybe it will be the best book you read this year.
